The recent lottery grant has enabled a project group to be set up : ‘Discovering Pugin’ which is aimed at engaging with the community of Nottingham to raise their awareness of the rich history of their Cathedral, a hidden Pugin gem in the heart of the city. Working with Nottingham Trent University and conservation specialists will allow the architectural story of the building to be unlocked which can then be shared with the public.
A temporary exhibition, student led consultation events, cathedral trails and celebration events will also tie into the 175th anniversary of the building. Feedback and consultation will be an integral part of the project in order to shape and refine how the Cathedral’s heritage is shared and conserved for the building in the future.
