Your journey towards becoming a Catholic begins with connecting with our Catholic Community here at the Cathedral.
Through our services, events and social activities you can get a real experience of what Catholic life is like and there are lots of friendly faces waiting to welcome you into the parish and accompany you on your journey.
When you feel ready, you can then start the formal process towards becoming Catholic. The Cathedral parish is pleased to offer a ‘Journey in Faith’ programme each year, which allows people to become new members of the Catholic Church through a process of eduction, faith sharing and rituals known as the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults. This group meets weekly and each session consists of prayer, a presentation on an aspect of the Catholic faith and small group discussion. It is relaxed, friendly and open to all.
As each person begins their ‘journey in faith’ at different points, the preparations to become Catholic are very flexible and can be adapted to suit your needs. Speak to one of our priests after Mass for more information or contact the parish office to find out more.
